THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVES ON GLOBALISATION
Globalisation has a long history and can arguably be traced back to the earliest beginnings of human existence. The modern era of globalisation can be defined as beginning with the fall of the Berlin wall (1989) and the break up of the USSR (1991). Post-modern, 21st Century globalisation has been strongly affected by access to technology and the changing characteristics of a globally inter-connected society. The infographic below compares the transition from modern to post-modern forms of globalisation and is an interesting and useful perspective when considering globalisation.
